Southern Innovation announces joint venture

Southern Innovation has today entered into a joint venture with the Little Group to explore applications of Southern Innovation’s SITORO┬« Accelerated Analysis technology to the freight and logistics sector.

The current generation of cargo-screening technology available globally is limited in its capability. A strong reliance on human interpretation of scanning results and in some cases, poor scan quality, result in slow throughput rates and the potential for unreliable outcomes (both false alarms and failure to alarm).

The joint venture, LSI Scanning, will investigate the potential to apply advances demonstrated in the global synchrotron market to x-ray scanning technology in the freight and logistics industry using SITORO Accelerated Analysis digital signal processing. LSI Scanning will focus on two opportunities for improvement in freight scanning: scanning and interpretation capability, and scanning volumes.
